ECCA Scholarship Granting Organizations
A Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) is a nonprofit that receives ECCA donations and awards K–12 scholarships to eligible families. The official list of designated SGOs is published by each participating state’s governor and submitted to the U.S. Treasury annually.
Directory coming soon
The federal ECCA program goes live January 1, 2027. States are still in the process of designating their SGO lists. The official directory is the list each governor submits to the U.S. Treasury under §25F(g) — once those lists are published, this page will list every designated SGO by state.
In the meantime, several third-party trackers monitor state opt-ins and publish SGO information as it becomes available:
- Ballotpedia — non-partisan state-by-state participation tracker
- Education Week — education-policy newsroom with an interactive opt-in tracker
- Teach Coalition — advocacy-organization tracker (Orthodox Union / Jewish day-school network)
What you can do now
- →Check your state’s status. SGOs can only be designated in states whose governors have opted in. See where every state stands.
- →Learn how SGOs work. Our guide to Scholarship Granting Organizations explains designation, the 90/10 rule, and how donors choose an SGO.
- →If your organization wants to become an SGO, check with your state’s designating authority (typically the governor’s office or state department of revenue) for their application process and timeline. You can also reach us at info@eccacredit.com to be added to our outreach list.
- →Have your SGO listed here when launches. If you operate (or are launching) an SGO that’s on a state’s designated list, email us at info@eccacredit.com and we’ll add you to the directory when it goes live.
